...seemingly miraculous
New Claret 3:06 From the Gesto Collection, this tune was chosen by Cynthia to highlight the beauty of two of her Ardival Harps: The Rose and the Kilcoy. Played in simple canon form, the two harps complement each other in perfect balance. Cynthia is joined by her best friend and accomplished musician Eric Cathcart, as he lends an Irish Whistle accompaniment that soars joyfully over the harps. Truly a most delightful tune! Chanter's Tune 4:45 A young organist named Edward Bunting (1773-1843), with the strength of genius, made precious notes on the performance of the wire strung harp from his observations of a few of the very last ancient harpers. The tradition of this noble instrument became extinct during his lifetime. Bunting also wrote down music from the oral tradition of the harpers. Without his work many tunes would have been lost forever. He collected this tune from E. Shannon, Esq. in 1839.
